At the Youth Summit Chitral, held at the Nagar Fort, Dr. Sadia Khalid was invited as a Guest Speaker to lead impactful sessions on climate advocacy and disaster risk reduction. The summit brought together over 40 young leaders from across Pakistan, creating a vibrant platform for learning, dialogue, and action.
Participants engaged in discussions on climate change science, resilience, and community-based solutions, while also marking the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction by emphasizing the importance of preparedness over response. The sessions highlighted how investing in resilience can save lives, strengthen communities, reduce economic losses, and support sustainable development.
Through interactive group work, participants developed practical initiatives, including:
- A social media campaign to protect forests in Pakistan
- A university seminar plan on conserving forest and mountain ecosystems
- An awareness walk to combat deforestation
